P. A. 342 was signed into law in February of 2018. It requires all Municipal Utilities to make available to their customers a Voluntary Green Pricing Program (VGP).
This program allows customers to base up to 100% of their Kwhr usage to come from Renewable Energy sources. If a customer chooses to participate in the program, the percentage of Kwhr’s chosen will be billed at .01/Kwhr above their current rate.
If a customer chooses above the 50% rate, the R.E.C. surcharge will be dropped from their monthly energy bill. If you have any questions about this opportunity to purchase (Green Energy), contact the Light & Power Dept. for details.
